Simple Seal Pattern

    Cutest animal on earth. Hands down. Nothing can change my mind. Here's a pattern. On estimate, it takes about an hour or two to complete.

🦭 Materials needed:
3.0 mm crochet hook
sewing needle
scissors
fabric glue
felt (slightly darker color than body yarn)
yarn (see below)

🦭 Yarn colors you'll need: (really any color)
a lighter color for the body
slightly darker color for the eyebrows

🦭 Abbreviation guide:
R#= row number
sc= single crochet
hdc= half double crochet
dc= double crochet
trc= treble crochet
slst= slip stitch
inc= increase
dec= decrease
ch= chain
st= stitch
FLO= front loop only
BLO= back loop only
cc= color change

🦭 Body (in lighter color)
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6 st)
R2: inc all around (12 st)
R3: sc, inc (18 st)
R4-6: sc all around (18 st)
R7: FLO for entire round, 2 sc, inc (24 st)
R8: 3 sc, inc (30 st)
R9: sc all around (30 st)
R10: 4 sc, inc (36 st)
R11-12: sc all around (36 st)
R13: 4 sc, dec (30 st)
R14: sc all around (30 st)
Put safety eyes between R4-5 with 5 sts in between
R15: 3 sc, dec (24 st)
R16: sc all around (24 st)
R17: 2 sc, dec (18 st)
R18: sc all around (18 st)
R19: sc, dec (12 st)
Finish off and stuff, we will be connecting the flippers to this later (with sewing)

🦭 Flippers (make 2, in lighter color)
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6 st)
R2: sc all around (6 st)
*Finish off if this is the first flipper but if it is the second, connect to the first flipper with a sc. This will count as the first st in R3
R3: sc all around (12 st)
Leave an extra long tail and finish off

To connect the body and flipper, orient the flipper so it is even with the two safety eyes and sew each st in line with eachother, do not finish off yet.
At the backside of the base of the flippers, use the leftover thread and make a few french knots until satisfied with the size of the tail

🦭 Arms (make 2, in lighter color)
R1: 4 sc in magic ring (4 st)
Leave a long tail and finish off
Connect to to body between R8-9 on both sides of the body

🦭 Face details
Cut a long piece of the darker yarn and sew eyebrows above eyes
Cut out a piece of felt in this shape that fits between the eyes

Start with a rectangle and shape it

This is the shape we are going for

Glue between eyes, alternatively you can sew it down with sewing thread

And the pattern is finished! It's a pretty simple one but I really do like it!
